1. Development and Communications Volunteer

Little Miracles Foundation (LMF) is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to helping individuals and families in developing countries. Since its launch in 2009, and with the goal of linking people in need with those who can help, Little Miracles Foundation has made positive changes in people’s lives through the implementation of several projects.

LMF is looking for a Development and Communications Volunteer with a lot of energy willing to work initially 10 hours a week on a variety of projects. Successful candidates will have demonstrated interest and commitment to fundraising, philanthropy and non-profits through their voluntarism, employment, and/or academic studies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Research all relevant grant funding opportunities.
• Collect information on foundations to apply for new funding.
• Develop reusable proposal templates with boilerplate language.
• Write, edit and proofread proposals and grant applications.
• Communicate with donors.
• Manage LMF general email account and answer inquiries.
• Produce marketing material for several projects.
• Manage online marketing, such as website, Facebook, press releases, etc.
• Assist in the development and operation of creative fundraising campaigns.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• Graduate student in communications, non-profit management, international development, or similar field.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience in grant writing is a plus.
• Knowledge of MS Access, Word, and Excel and PowerPoint.

Skills and Competencies:
• Passionate about LMF’s mission and values.
• Ability to self-start, be flexible, and manage time and multiple tasks.
• Good research skills.
• Fluency in internet research and email communication.

Time Commitment:
The position is 10 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months. Please address availability in your cover letter.
